I know for me I rely on structure to my days. I have a routine for term-time weekdays and another for school holiday weekdays. I attempt to leave weekends without quite so much rigidity.
Routine is often one of the most important and frequently overlooked components to consistently achieving success in life, both in and out of your career. Developing a routine can sometimes feel like an impossible task but there are benefits associated with a routine, and you may also find it becomes easier to set and reach goals.
Developing a routine will result in varying benefits and may even help you lead a healthier lifestyle. I recommend you try to stay organised, ensure you have some time to unwind before bed and always get a good night’s sleep. Although I have to admit, I have often failed on that one recently.
I love the daily BWN Facebook Lives which I dive straight into after doing Joe Wicks P.E. on a weekday. Then I juggle work and home-schooling for the morning. My daughter is not in a year that has started back at school yet, so this may well continue until at least September, and even possibly after that.
We have a timetable, broken up by the tuck shop/snack bar break, which has been through several iterations, including a period on strict rationing, as we both needed to lose some weight. Baking obviously appeared on our timetable too frequently in the first 10 weeks of this new routine, and now we are paying the price. Lots of my daughters clubs are running on Zoom, so her social life is returning, albeit in a virtual form, but this also adds more structure to our week.
I think it is the structure and routine I have built that has got me and my family through these unprecedented times. Now with Joe Wicks changing his live timetable from next week, I need to have a re-think, will we watch him on #REPLAY at 9am on the days he isn’t doing a live, of course that is an option ……
